Gilbert's Lodge: A Casual Sports Bar with a Huge Menu in Saint Clair Shores, MI

Service was outstanding. Eva was attentive, friendly & represented Gilberts Lounge well for our first visit. Love the lounge feel, take a bow on well kept the decor in the ceilings were, lighting as well. Bar mirror was spotless. That’s exactly what I wanna see when I’m ordering some flaming cheese! Saganaki was every bit as good as it looked. This young man must have done this a time or two, he really let that cheese cook in the flame. Some places rush this step & except the final result to taste like this. Credit due. Located with in a mile or two from the house, a return visit is most likely. Thanks for dinner Gilberts.

Service and atmosphere was really great, the fish tacos were very good however I would suggest you get your toppings on the side to prevent them from getting soggy. My daughter got the salmon which she said was very good, my husband got the chicken ciabatta sandwich but he said the chicken was to small for the bun and kind of dry. My Boys each got a burger, their burgers are huge but they both said that they weren’t seasoned so keep that in mind. We also got the super nachos with pulled pork which were extremely large and layered with topping's and the fried cauliflower, I forgot to get pictures but the appetizers did not disappoint. Overall the food would score a 3.5 in taste and a 4.5 in presentation. The service and atmosphere was really good 5 stars for that. I did also want to mention that everything seemed to be very affordable, that’s really huge to us right now. We will come back and try something different next time. Maybe a new family spot!

Went here for Brunch on a Sunday. They open at 10am. It's January in Michigan- fireplaces were lit. Bloody Mary & Mimosa bar all set up. The overhead train is running. Our waitress was fantastic!! She brought my daughter some candied bacon from the Bloody Mary bar . They have Brunch specials too! Food was hot & delicious!

I haven't been here in 35 years. I use to go here as a boy after hockey. We were just driving back from eastern market and passed it. We turned around and gave it a try. The service was great. The food was amazing top notch. We will be going here more often. I would highly recommend this place.

Literal perfection! We have dined in here for over 20 years. Tonight, my son and husband were sick and unfortunately we could not dine in. The manager accommodated our situation with their pizza Monday, and went above and beyond! We have always had the best service and to mention a few, we love Heather (I’m biased because she is my favorite) and our male server (forgive me I cannot remember his name). I walked in to pick up the carry out and he gave me great compliments that as a woman, needed desperately as of late due to not feeling so great! Long story short, we love Gilbert’s! Always have and will always recommend!

Being relatively new to the area, we’ve driven by Gilbert’s Lodge more times than I can count and always said, “We should try that place.” Well… we finally did — and we’re glad we did. First off, plenty of parking (which is always a win). From the moment you pull up, the exterior gives off that cozy mountain-village vibe — very outdoorsy, rustic, and welcoming. Step inside and it’s a perfect match. The décor flows seamlessly from outside to in, creating that lodge feel that’s relaxed but still lively. The service? Impeccable. Our server was phenomenal — didn’t miss a beat even though it was busy for a Thursday late afternoon/early evening crowd. Attentive, friendly, and on point the entire time. Food quality was solid across the board. If you’re into wings, you have to try the buffalo wings — they’re legit. We also went on Slider & Suds Thursday, and the variety of slider flavors was impressive. Something for everyone, and each one brought its own personality. Now that we’re local, this will definitely be in the regular rotation. Nice job, Gilbert’s Lodge and staff. We’ll be back.

Once my wife found out Eminem used to work here, we had to go. Since they had pizza, I agreed. Vibe in here is super cool! Love the train they have running around the ceiling. The kids got their first flaming cheese experience here, so that was very awesome! Pretzel sticks and pizzas were very good! Pasta dishes were good, but not as big of a hit as the pizza, cheese and pretzel sticks. They have some t shirts you can buy, and they also have some great specials, including half off pizzas on Mondays for dine in! The bloody mary bar looked pretty great, if that's your thing!

This was our first visit. Our waiter was great. Friendly, courteous, and attentive. The menu has SO many great options it was difficult to decide. I chose the turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun. It was delicious! There was also a nice selection of beers to choose from, craft and domestic, draft and bottled. Our first experience was a great one and we look forward to eating here again.
